A mild day, 8 degrees, no wind and overcast today but a bit on the foggy side with poor light for most of the day.
Bites were patchy on most pegs today, but a few better sized fish were caught on both waters.
All the ” DNWs” caught fish but tipped back which helped speed up the weigh in.!!
The match was split into 3 sections today, one on Bruce’s Acre and two on Queensberry Water.
Bruce’s Acre section winner was Symon Willan who caught 11 small carp, 10 of which were on the feeder rod, Symon weighed in 36lbs 8oz which also won the overall match today.
Runner up was Steve Royle on culvert peg 13 with a few small carp caught on pole for 21lb 8oz.
On Queensberry Water Barry Young won his section and the lake with a nice mix of skimmers, chub, ide and roach caught on maggot / pole to weigh in 32lb 10oz, which also got him 2nd overall in the match.
Second in section 2 was David Mcgregor with a mix of small silvers caught on the pole for 16lb 12oz.
Queensberry Water section 1 Winner today was Mark Gordon, Mark caught 6 nice carp on the tip rod for 27lb 6oz… A good effort for only his 2nd match on the venue..!
Second in section 1 was Geoff Whittle with one small carp and a few silvers for 12lb 6oz.
Bites were slow and a little patchy today throughout the match but patience got those better fish on the pole lines.. Quite a few missed bites too due to the poor light and fog, but some nice nets of fish were recorded.. Well done guys.!
