For once the weather was kind today, sunny intervals brought a little warmth, with odd gusts of wind around 20mph and in between, it was flat calm. ?
With all the recent rain and excess water in the lakes, it was going to be patchy, and so it proved.
The fish fed in little spells throughout the day and everyone caught a few.
In section 1 it was pretty close between the top 3, patience and a little chopping and changing baits was key.
Barry Young won the section and overall match with a mix of ide caught on pole/maggot, and carp on a mini hybrid feeder for 33lb 4oz.
Symon Willan was a very close second with 27lbs of carp caught on the feeder, with Andrew Keogh 3rd with 22lb 14oz of carp, again caught on feeder.
Section 2 was a little tougher, with most catching fish but those bonus fish were needed, and Don Lines had a few of them to take the section win with 28lb 6oz, caught on maggot feeder and pole.
Young Kyle Kirkpatrick was a deserved 2nd with 14lb in a very tough section.
