Over 207lbs of fish caught today. Not bad for winter between 7 anglers.!
A beautiful sunny day, no wind and temperatures of 12 degrees greeted those that ventured out to fish the New Year’s day Open Match.
Some very nice nets of fish today.. Nets of carp, nets of Bream & nets of mixed species.. ?
Scott Bond won the first match of the new year with a superb net of bream weighing 50lbs and with one solitary carp it gave him an unbeatable 55lbs today.. A really nice net of fish caught on the pole.
Runner up today was John Williamson who got off to a great start on the method feeder catching carp.. And continued to pick up a few more throughout the match on a pink wafter..!
John weighed in a lovejoy winter net of carp weighing 41lbs 8oz.. He lost a few too.!
Elsewhere some nice nets of mixed silvers for Barry Young, David Mcgregor and Ian Pearson.. All nets between 24lb & 28lb made for a busy day’s fishing ?
