Carp Competition Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd Sept

Dates: 1st September - 3rd September

Waters: Muirbeck

Broom Fisheries Carp Competition 2023

The date for this year’s carp competition is from Friday 01st September to Sunday 03rd September.

The draw will take place at 8am on the 01st all in 10am and all out will be 12pm on the 03rd.

Muirbeck will be closed on Thursday 31st August and an extended normal 24hr ticket on Sunday.

The competition is restricted to 20 anglers on a first-come basis.

The cost to enter is £100 per angler all in so there will be nothing else to be pay on the day.

Payment can be made at the fishery in CASH or Bank transferred… call Carole on 01461 700386 for details

This is a specimen competition and is for the heaviest fish, not the total weight.

Anglers will only be added to the list once they have paid in full.

Once paid if you no longer want to or are unable to fish then you can get someone to take your place and arrange between yourselves to get payment as there will be no refund of the entry fee from the fishery.

As mentioned, this is a specimen carp competition and prizes will be paid as follows: (subject to entry)

1st Prize – £500

2nd Prize – £350

3rd Prize – £150

The pay-outs will be paid by default so for example if an angler has the 2 heaviest fish over the 2 days, they will only receive the prize money for 1st place, 2nd place will go to the angler that has the 3rd heaviest fish and so on.

The prize fund will be adjusted depending on the number of anglers entering.

The format for the event.

The draw (assuming all pegs are being used)

All 20 pegs will be placed into the draw bag.

Anglers will draw in the order that they booked in for the competition.

The peg number that they draw is the peg that they will fish for the 2 days.

Once all anglers have drawn, they can head to their pegs to set up.

Competition Rules

Once at their peg anglers can cast for the purpose of clipping up only, no bait can be introduced into the water until the all-in at 10am.

Anglers can use bait boats and baiting poles to introduce bait and rigs after the all-in but must take into consideration other anglers.

The use of fish finders is not permitted during the competition, I appreciate some bait boats have this built-in but they are not to be used.

Only carp over 6lb count.

Fishery scales will be available for weighing fish and all fish weights must be verified, details of this will be advised on the day.

All anglers will be kept informed of the weight of the top 3 heaviest fish throughout the event.

We are looking to have someone available through the night to weigh fish, this will be discussed on the day.

Normal Muirbeck rules apply with regard to fish care and tackle.

To enter this competition please contact the fishery.

The closing date for entries is 12th August.

Names will be added to the list in the order that they pay the entry fee
