20th May
Mainly dry today but a horrible wind….. AGAIN..!!
Everyone had a decent days fishing today, including the two ” DNWs ” who both tipped back to speed up the weigh – in.
Barry Young had a cracking days fishing, catching 5 small carp on method feeder before switching to the pole. He caught steadily at 7m putting around 40lbs of ide in the net, feeding lightly with maggots, for his 46lb 12oz winning net.
With Barry having already qualified, there were two other qualifying places up for grabs… And Ian Hickson took the first qualifying place with a nice net of silvers, catching ide and roach steadily all day on the pole for 39lbs, and 2nd overall.
Allan Walsh took the last qualifying place, finishing very close behind Ian, with another nice net of ide and roach for 37lbs 10oz, and 3rd overall.
Nick Howe was a respectable 4th with 31lbs, mainly small carp caught on method feeder.
Some nice big skimmers caught today also throughout the length of the lake.
Well done to Ian and Allan on qualifying for the Broomhill Bonanza Finals..!!

15th April

The weather was a lot kinder than was forecast today, dry, with a nice breeze and the odd 20mph gust.

Chris Scott won overall with a good 48lb 12oz net of ide caught on chopped worm / caster, qualifying for the final, Barry Young had a right old mix of fish including F1, Common and Mirror carp, chub, ide, bream, barbel and roach, most of which were caught on worm and pellet on pole at 14m, also qualifying for the final.
Decent back up weights of 20lb + for Nick Howe, Colin Letham, Ian Hickson, John Williamson too, with a mix of ide, skimmers and small carp, all caught on maggot / pole.
We’ll not mention Davey Mitchell on peg 17 ( it produced 70lb + the last two matches.) weighing in a miserable 4lbs 2oz… !
Overall – Chris Scott
Sections – Barry Young, Nick Howe
Well done guys and thanks for supporting the match.!
