A dry mild day at the fishery today.. And what a day it was.
The current Scottish Match Record stood at 128lbs 6oz, held at the fishery by Ian Whitson on Wallace Lake… And Steve Royle came close to breaking it earlier in the year with 116lbs.
The potential was always there, and today young Rob Swan smashed it with a superb 135lbs 10oz..,!!!!!
A fantastic effort by Rob today who caught carp steadily all day on bomb and pellet, and pellet waggler, with one or two chub and big ide thrown in for good measure..!
Steve Royle had a great day also catching carp on method feeder, pellet waggler and paste on the pole to finish second with, 77lbs 12oz.
Gerry Blythe (3rd) with 59lb 8oz and Mark Clow (4th) with 48lbs provided very respectable backup weights…
