One of the better days at Broom regarding the weather, dry, mild and 15 – 18mph winds..!
The catches weren’t too shabby either, with both waters producing some great weights and extremely tight sections – the way it should be.
On Queensberry Water Martin Greene won the section and the overall match with a superb 58lbs 4oz, and with the top 5 weights all topping 50lb +, every ounce counted..!
Pat James was only 2lbs behind Martin to finish 2nd with 56lb, and taking the last framing place was Ian Whitson, again less than 4lbs behind top spot with 54lbs 8oz.
Rosen Arsov ( 53lb 2oz.) & James Dornom ( 51lb 4oz.) provided the other 50lb + back up weights.
On Wallace Lake it was another close section, but not quite matching the weights on Queensberry Water, none the less it was pretty close throughout.
It was all about the feeding today to keep the swim ticking over, with the fish backing off from the pole lines frequently.
Rob Swan fish a steady match feeding maggots to catch 60 + small ide and two small carp to win the section with 42lbs.
Paul Spencer made the most of his end peg advantage catching carp on feeder, and in margin on pole along with a few silvers to weigh in 41lbs, very close behind Rob in first place.
Tim Gustard took the last payout place with around 15 small carp caught on tip rod for 36lbs 2oz.
Good close sections today and very respectable weights, well done guys..!
