Broom Fisheries Sunday Open Match Results
( 18 fished. )
A nice dry & mild day today, with very little wind and periods where it was pretty much flat calm.
Queensberry Water was a little more coloured than Wallace Lake, which reflected in the weights today.
Ian Whitson won comfortably on Queensberry Water catching some nice carp and skimmers on feeder rod with very little showing interest on his pole line, weighing in a superb 67lb 4oz to win the section and overall match.
Simon Heyes fished a good match to finish 2nd in section, catching ide, skimmers and carp on the pole to weigh in 45lb 8oz.
Myles Watt was a respectable 3rd with 42lbs, mainly ide caught on the pole.
On Wallace Lake the fish were a bit more spooky due to the clarity of the water, fine rigs and less feeding was the way forward.
Scott Bond won the section with a mix of ide and carp, with a few carp from his margin, but most getting caught on maggots on his silver line on the pole..! 58lbs.
Rob Swan made the most of his end peg advantage today, catching 37 ide fishing shallow with maggots, and 8 carp on sweetcorn from his left hand margin to weigh in 44lb 10oz, finishing 2nd in section.
Dave Walker was 3rd with 37lbs of carp caught on tip rod.
Another great turnout, well done guys..!
