Two days of heavy rain, the pond level up nearly a foot in-depth… And heavy persistent rainfall throughout the match, you’d think it was going to be a tough day for all.!!
But just when you think you know it all, the fish have other ideas and feed all day long, producing one of the best matches for some time..!! (I think we’ll stay at home the next time its good weather !! )
It’s not very often you weigh 41lb and come last, or weigh 71lbs & 81lbs and don’t finish in the top 3.!!
Simon Heyes broke the magic ” Ton” barrier with his 101lb 14oz effort.. Opting to fish bomb and pellet and the method feeder all day, he had a cracking net of carp and skimmers to win the match.
Nearly breaking the ” ton” also was Scott Bond… One more fish would’ve done it, weighing in 98lb 12oz… Caught on bomb and pellet waggler to finish in 2nd place.
In third place was Rosen Arsov on end peg 16, catching carp on the method feeder, and in the margins on pole for another near ton weight of 93lb 4oz..!!
Barry Young could only manage a 4th place with his 81lb 14oz… Carp caught on pellet waggler and method feeder… With Mark Acton 5th with a good net of big ide, skimmers and carp caught on the pole for 71lb 8oz…
NEARLY 760lbs of fish between 11 anglers… Pretty impressive stuff.!!
